myjadie has the right idea. If women let on that they too, knew how to bbq, then they'd have to cook all of the time.
Hey, I do most of the large meals at my home, but I hate picking at the leftovers to clean up. Now, I'm conscious of not leaving a big mess, but it happens. I also try to clean up parts of the preparation while cooking, so as not to leave my wife with such a large mess at the end.
So, in sharing the chore of preparing and eating the meal, the men would rather cook than clean up. Besides, it's cool to chat with your friends/relatives, beer in hand, while cooking the meal on the bbq in the outdoors.
