Good Bottled BBQ sauce. - 2006/07/31 03:31 I am looking for a good bbq sauce, sweet with a low vinegar content. As I don't use this type of sauce often I would like to purchase a bottled sauce of the shelf and would appreciate your recommendations. If you have a recipe for a low effort, quickie sauce that will do too. I just don't want to work hard for something I rarely use.

re:Good Bottled BBQ sauce. - 2006/07/31 03:31 My quickie recipe: A small can of tomato sauce, a little ketchup, some brown sugar, vinegar and if you want also some onion. Add garlic and maybe some chili powder and if you have it melt some apricot or citrus jam into it. Mix together or whiz in a blender if you want it smooth and presto.

re:Good Bottled BBQ sauce. - 2006/07/31 03:31 I usually try to get Guido's Serious. It's hard to find in the stores but worth it if you can get it. Their site is http://www.guidoseriousbbq.com

re:Good Bottled BBQ sauce. - 2006/07/31 03:31 I go for Sweet Baby Ray's. I can personally vouch for the hot n spicy and for the honey varieties. You should be able to get them in the supermarket but I'll give you the site anyway so you can have a look. http://www.sweetbabyrays.com

re:Good Bottled BBQ sauce. - 2006/07/31 03:31 I have this combo I like to mix up to doctor Van De Camps beans. Basically it's butter, lard, ketchup, garlic, onions, blackstrap, brown sugar and instant coffee. I add a little tomato sauce too in order to compensate for the VDC's sauce.

re:Good Bottled BBQ sauce. - 2006/07/31 03:31 Try adding some mustard. Dry is best but if you don't have it you can use ordinary. And don't forget the Worcestershire sauce, perfect for BBQ sauces.

re:Good Bottled BBQ sauce. - 2006/07/31 03:32 Sweet Baby Ray's is brilliant. Highly recommended. Other good options are Hunts or Heinz and the Jack Daniels brand also have some good sauces.

Re:Good Bottled BBQ sauce. - 2008/06/19 20:23 Found a good bottled sauce. It is called Head Country and is available at my WalMart and online at www.headcountry.com. Closest to homemade I've tasted in a long time. Can buy by the gallon online.

Re:Good Bottled BBQ sauce. - 2009/05/03 05:08 Well, I actually make my sauce using Jack Daniels Old NO. 7 as a base and improve it from there, hence the name, Must B21!
I'm working on trying to market it but if someone were to email me we might figure out how to get sauce quick enough, provided you don't live as far away as Cajun does.
