A Poll: Do you prefer top posting, or bottom / interleaved posting?
Only open to those already participating in AFB prior to today. If you are just showing up, your vote won`t count. We don`t want the ballot boxes stuffed. Vote here on AFB, no voting will be accepted from personal e-mail. Any lengthy dissertations with a vote will NOT be counted. We just want a clean, easy to understand vote. This vote will NOT affect anything to do with AFB, it is designed to settle a dispute, that`s all. Voting ends at 11:00 am on Saturday.
So.... which type of posting style do YOU prefer?
WITH PROPER SNIPPAGE of quoted text, do you prefer:

Re:A Poll: Do you prefer top posting, or bottom / interleaved posting?
In response to a thread started by The Fat Man on July 22nd entitled "Finally! Clarity.", Jon Enders, PE posted the following reply. I quote it in its entirety because it expressed my sentiment entirely. Apologies for the lack of previously praised brevity. <quote> I usually don`t participate in this eye-poking and tit-squeezing that some of you do, but I think that this subject, more than anything, is the biggest crock of shit I`ve dealt with in years of posting on Usenet.
Each of the methods - top posting, bottom posting, and interspersing comments, has its` merits.
Top posting works if the original post is short and will probably not merit a long response. I like top-posting, both in reading and replying, because the meat of the message is right at the top and I don`t have to wade through all of the previously posted stuff.
Bottom posting is fine if you expect a series of replies and/or a long thread that has several respondents, or if you don`t have a freakin` clue how to snip the previous post to the relevant information. Actually, it works most of the time, but the laziness factor creeps in.
Mixing replies into a post works very well if you use a lot of white space, and it`s good for answering a series of questions. There are some folks in
extremely well because they know how to do it effectively.
It`s funny that this stuff only gets brought up in this group, out of about a dozen that I read every day. Maybe it`s because of the amount of time everyone needs to fill up while waiting for their meat to cook. Anyway, I guess I need to killfile a few people here. Never thought I`d have to do that, but the fat-to-meat ratio is getting a bit too high lately. </quote> typically answering technical questions that lend themselves to non-conversational, succinct responses. On alt.food.barbecue I usually bottom-post because the threads tend to be more conversational and because it is the accepted practice. But I concur with Mr. Enders that far too much is made of this. If I never see the phrase "top-posting, full-quoting bozo" again, I will die a happier man.

I vote Bottom / Interleaved posting. (I`d settle for either as long as it is close to on topic for the group tho)
