Favorite Traditional Sushi
It`s been a little slow around here lately, so it`s time for a new thread.
What are some of your favorite authentic/traditional sushi items?
For me, I always seem to order an Ika/Mentaiko handroll. I also like, on occasion, yama imo, natto, and awabi wasabi.
There is one thing that I still have a hard time eating: kani miso.

My favorites are always kaigai (clam variety) when fresh, fresh, fresh.

Re:Favorite Traditional Sushi
-hamachi (my fave) -unagi -maguro or toro -uni w/quail egg if fresh (gunkan) -baby tako (either as an appetizer or nigiri with the rest of the meal)
Again, I usually always get the above but I`ll mix in whatever special items the itamae may have that day and some sort of maki roll as well. Once in a while I`ll just order chirashi with similar ingredients for a change of pace.

Re:Favorite Traditional Sushi
Had some wonderful sawara, iwashi, bincho maguro, ankimo, uni, and saba this evening. Of all of them, and the other I didn`t mention, the sawara and uni were the best.
