Smoking whole cooked ham
Wally`s world has Smithfield hams, fully cooked in the 20-25# range at very reasonable prices-same as their price on fresh shoulder. Just wonder what a cooked ham would be like smoked for 8 - 10 hours in a 225F offset smoker. Will also put a dry rub on it.
If anybody has tried this-let me know-will provide feedback after smoking mine.

Where can you get a Smithfield ham for $.49/lb? More like $4.49/lb in the bay area.

Re:Smoking whole cooked ham
I`ve done a few. It tastes better than the same ham reheated in the oven. You can always refrigerate/freeze the leftovers, especially with a vacuum sealer.
If you can, ask a butcher for a fresh pork leg, and marinate/cure it and smoke it yourself. Or get a fresh, cured leg, and smoke it yourself. Much better than the pre-cooked ones.

He does have a sense of humor (as was very strongly pointed out to me after his 4th post to this group).
It`s just humor when jakB makes the funny.
