    'Grilling' steaks on a pan

Q: is it ok to grill steaks on a pan? If so, what type of pan should I use?

Generally speaking 'grilling' on a pan is less desirable than using a grill.
You will need a heavy metal pan (preferably not too large, thick, made of stainless steel) that will absorb a lot of heat, imitating the heat of a grill.
Most pans will have a special Nirosta wrap on them, so use only wooden tools when handling and wash them carefully.
Note that grilling on a pan requires a different type of meat and cut.

From my experience it is possible but the taste will be much different than what you expect.
