    I used to have "Real Barbecue" by Greg Johnson but somehow it disappeared. It was very good book and I can;t find it anywhere .

    Steven's books are the best. His "How to Grill" is my favorite by far. It is the book I used to learn how to grill. Filled with foolproof instructions on all of the basic meats and vegetables. His book "BBQ USA" is hard to beat for a huge variety.

    It is good (I have most of his books). It does not get down into the basic instructions as much as "How to Grill" and goes far more exotic than "BBQ USA". It is probably the best for a world variety, but I'm not really into grilling snails and whole sea bass with lemon grass, so I, personally, like the other two better. If you like exotic, though, it is definitely worth a look.

    It's good to know all kinds of 'variations' I think. It makes you want to explore more and more. Unless, of course, you're a 'traditional' bbq'er

    True enough. I have Raichlen's "Beer Can Chicken and 74 other offbeat recipes." It is more of the offbeat methods of cooking grill style than offbeat recipes. I've fooled myself (using offbeat recipes with regular ingredients) into thinking that's variety. I've tried a couple of truly different ingredients in the past, but keep going back to the basics. (I still can't abide snails :sick: ) :laugh:

    I like strong fatty meat, I sorta can find it in every offbeat recipe I've looked at till now. Spices? I like to experiment.
