    Pizza BBQ?

Ok I have a really odd question. Has anyone ever tried to BBQ a pizza? Sounds like it might work out well but was hoping someone might have tried this before so I could get some input before I try on my own.

Maybe you could try just smoking the toppings and the sauce but I am not sure about the whole thing. Let me know how it comes out if you try it.

When you cook a pizza you need to cook it at very high temperatures. Using a smoker you will have to use a low temp which may prevent the crust from rising properly. What you may want to try is starting the crust in the oven and then moving it to the smoker for the last part.

It may just work if you have a pit that will give you temps over 400 degrees. Also you may want to only cook the pizza by itself and not with anything else in the grill. I saw some people make it on the grill but never in a smoker.

Sounds like a very interesting idea to me. If you are able to do it please let me know because I would love to hear how it worked out. I like to do a pizza on my grill. That is definitely worth trying out. In my opinion you can make better pizza on your grill then you can get at the local pizza place.

It would be better to grill the pizza because most smokers will not give you temps that high. However you could use some nice wood chips and then cook the pizza on the grill directly over the smoke. This would give you the smoked flavor without actually smoking it.

Pizza on the grill is delicious to me. You can use a pizza stone t put the crust on and make sure to add a lot of yeast. Put the temp on about 500 degrees. Last time I made one I used some mesquite wood and it came out excellent. Everyone in my family loved it.

Does anyone know what a square top fire box is? Well if you do and you have one then you can get much higher temps and possibly cook a pizza in it. You can make one yourself also. This will allow you to get the temp up to the 500 or so degrees you will need to cook a pizza. It will cook it fast.

What a wonderful idea you have there. I got a fire box like that. I think that then next time I fire up the smoker I am going to have to try this idea out. Maybe putting some pulled pork on the pizza would be good? A smoked pizza with pulled pork on the top and then covered with a lot of mozzarella cheese would be freaking awesome.

Pulled pork pizza is amazing. I made it once and ate the whole damn thing myself.
